The best way to care for horn is to keep it away from extremes of temperature and humidity. A quick wash and rinse using mild soap and water, followed by thorough hand drying is best. Never soak it, or place in a dishwasher.

For horn boxes, trays, spoons, salad servers and other utensils used for eating, rub over with a little almond oil or olive oil after cleaning. If this natural material used in combination with silver, clean the silver portion after applying the oil of choice, keeping silver polish away from the horn part. Given just a little routine care, horn will last for a lifetime -- or several.
